I’ve neglected this poor old site for a while now. Being swamped with work is both a good and a bad thing. Good because, well, paying the bills is neat. Bad because you get behind on a lot of fun stuff (so many X-Box games are staring up at me longingly right now).
I’ll be spending a lot more time here, posting bits and pieces, but most importantly I’ll be introducing some new features in the form of interviews and insight into the Comic industry.
When I was first starting out I was fascinated (potentially obsessed) with finding out what other creators were doing and how they were doing it. Where did they work? How did they go about it? What hours did they keep? It was beyond helpful to talk with other creators and see how they went about what most of us do in a vacuum. At it’s most basic it gave me a point of reference for how I worked and also offered me some great tips on how to improve.
Given some of the most frequent questions I get from readers involve the same stuff I thought it would be great to interview creators in the biz to give you an idea on how they all go about it. Once a week I’ll be interviewing a new creator (writer or artist) and asking them the same five questions. Where ever possible we’ll get a snap shot of their workplace and get to really look behind the curtain.
Drop by and check it out, it’s going to be a lot of fun.
